TERMS AND CONDITIONS – General Products
Published: September 2024 | Version: SFF20241120.001
INTRODUCTION
These Terms and Conditions constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“Customer”) and Stepfast Flooring, a trading name of Stepfast Flooring. By paying a deposit or settling your invoice in full, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions, you must notify Stepfast Flooring within 5 business days from the invoice date, stating your objections and discussing alternative options.
a. We reserve the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will take effect immediately upon publication on our website. By continuing to purchase products or services after such amendments, you agree to be bound by the revised Terms and Conditions.
a. Full payment for all products and services is required to secure stock. Stock can only be secured once payment has been made in full. If paying by bank transfer, products will only be dispatched once funds have cleared into our account.
b. For security reasons, we do not accept payments over the phone. Payments can be made in store or via bank transfer, with bank details provided on the order, quote, or invoice.
In the event the job is cancelled, deposits are non-refundable.
a. The products displayed in our showrooms are samples only and are intended to assist customers in selecting flooring. Samples may appear different under varying lighting conditions. For example, the lighting in our showrooms may be brighter than in your home, which can alter the appearance of the sample.
b. Customers should note that sample panels do not display all features and patterns of the actual product and should be used as a colour guide only. Installed boards may include natural variations such as grains, knots, shading, and pattern differences that are not visible in the showroom display board.
c. In addition, batch-to-batch colour and sheen variation will occur. The Australian Standard for resilient flooring installation (AS 1884) recognises that minor colour and sheen differences are normal outcomes of the manufacturing process. Industry and manufacturer guidelines confirm that these variations are expected and are not considered defects.
a. Return Period:
All returns must be made within 14 days of dispatch. Any return requests after this period will not be accepted.
b. Condition of Returned Items:
Returned items must be unopened and in good condition. Items that have been opened, used, or damaged will not be eligible for return.
c. Restocking Fee:
All returns will incur a 15% restocking fee to cover handling and processing costs.
d. Returns for External Supplier Products:
For products picked up from external suppliers, the return must be made directly to the supplier. Please note that restocking fees charged by suppliers may exceed the 15% fee, and the customer will be responsible for these additional charges.
e. Non-Returnable Items:
Accessories, scotias, and trims are non-returnable under any circumstances.
Customer Responsibilities:
a. Customers are responsible for ensuring that their vehicle (car, ute, or van) is capable of safely carrying the weight of the load.
b. Stepfast Flooring will not be responsible for any loads that fall over during transport. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the load is properly secured and transported safely.
c. We will not accept responsibility for any damage to boxes once loaded. Customers should inspect the load for any visible damage before leaving the premises.
6. Order Confirmation & Returns Policy
a. We will not accept responsibility for any damage to boxes once loaded. Customers should inspect the load for any visible damage before leaving the premises.
b. It is the customer’s responsibility to thoroughly review the quote, order, and invoice to ensure the correct products have been ordered, including product type, size, colour, and quantity.
c. Stepfast Flooring will not be responsible for any mistakes or discrepancies in orders, including incorrect product selection or colour mix-ups. We will not arrange product swaps or exchanges due to such errors.
d. In the event of a return, please note that our suppliers impose restocking fees, which will be passed on to the customer and added to the final invoice, along with any additional costs incurred.
a. We recommend purchasing all products together to ensure consistency in batch numbers, as Stepfast Flooring cannot guarantee that the same batch will be available on subsequent purchases. Flooring products, especially those with natural variations (e.g., timber, laminate, hybrid, cladding, ceiling, accessories), can differ slightly from batch to batch, and we want to ensure a uniform look across your installation.
b. To avoid the need for further purchases after installation, we suggest factoring in relevant wastage when placing your order. This will help cover any potential cutting errors or future repairs and ensure that you have enough product to complete your project without the need for additional orders.
a. Your flooring needs to be protected from direct sunlight and extreme heat.
b. Use window treatments such as blinds, curtains, shutters, or window tinting to prevent damage, excessive expansion, lipping, gapping, and fading caused by the sun’s powerful rays.
c. It is recommended that on very hot days, blinds, curtains, or shutters remain closed to protect your flooring from heat and UV exposure.
Warranty Conditions
· Installation Requirements: Warranties are only valid if the product is installed in accordance with the supplier’s recommendations. Any work performed outside of the supplier’s guidelines, or improper installation, will void the warranty.
· Replacement Coverage: Warranty replacements will cover only the replacement of materials originally purchased from Stepfast Flooring. The warranty excludes any labour costs, additional materials, or other associated costs, such as removal, reinstallation, or repair.
Acceptance of Terms
By proceeding with your purchase or installation, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the above Terms and Conditions. Your signature (or payment of deposit/invoice) indicates your acceptance of these terms.
